Interpretation: I find this picture to be calm and serene. Even though death has come, there is still a since of hope.

Boy you have been cranking them out. My harem of sexy men (by Nathie) is full now.

cold and haunting. I'm waiting to see a small boat coming from the mist. I think of deep gray Celtic days--and longing.

Lovely!

My impression is not necessarily a grave marker, but a marker of great significance to someone; a memorial for something; a sacred spot.

Oh my Nathie... :tears: Chapter 14 + Forget me not = Tissues for ever and ever. #1 on my Crybaby-List.

The first thing that sticked to my mind when I saw this, is that there lies a man. He knew that he was going to die and chose this place to be burried. A peaceful place, quiet and baren, just like death is. And in my mind, there is a visitor dropped on his or her knees from sorrow and is not close to the cross. Not yet. The visitor didn't know about the man's death and found it out later.

Mother nature whispers that nothing is trully dead and lifeless, or lost. Even in this barren landscape, there is still life around. The voice of the birds which fly free to the sky, the so vibrant blue of those tiny flowers, the quite murmur of the lake. And strangely enough, there is a weird peacefulness and serenity that Mother Nature conveys along with the inexplicable reassurancee that the beloved man is resting in peace. And even more strangely, the visitor can sense the "presence" of the man, sitting beside him or her, looking at the lake...
But it's so sad that this presence of him has not flesh and bones anymore. Now, the body of the man is embraced tenderly from Mother Earth, just like the soil does to the roots of those beautiful flowers. And that second comes the realisation that this man will never die. Tears, many as the lake, will never bring him back but the memories of him, or his deeds, or his offers will keep him alive just like the water does to the living beings. Forever.

Then, the visitor in my mind takes a tiny blue flower from the cross, gets up, steps back to where he or she was kneeled some hours ago, looks for a last time the landscape and before he or she leaves, whispers the promise: "I will never forget you".

Right, wrong, I don't know but this is my interpretation to this beautiful and so emotional picture you've created.

The first emotion that I got off of it, without looking at the name, was this total sense of loneliness and loss. Of isolation and cold memories.

Then I looked at the name... xD DOH!

Taking the rune out of the image the second thing that I thought was the story of King Ludwig II I read. How he died by drowning in a lake; which added to that sad lonely feeling D:!

Love it so much though! Its really well done and very pretty. Amazing job as always Nathie!

Honestly? I remember the bog people, the ones they find that are shockingly preserved in peat. I don't know why, because there are no grave markers for them, but maybe it's the image of the bog as a grave. And I know, the cross is the wrong religion- they think the people were sacrificed to Odin, but it signifies religion and death.

I really like it, though. It doesn't make me sad. It's just a little solitary and mysterious with the fog.

Hmm.. In my mind I see the remnants of a church that was swallowed by the swamp.
This is the lone remainder, a single tomb stone, for someone long forgotten.

My impression is that of the one whose grave that is... In such a desolate place, will anyone come to visit? The place seems forgotten by sun and rain; only the mist embraces the lonely grave...
