i got asked so often to make a tutorial of trees. for a full rendered tut I don´t have the time, but maybe this quickie here gives you an insight how I work when it comes to trees.

Oh they are easy to make yourself. I think those are even photoshop standard brushes.

thanks for this!! I wonder - do you make color pallets for individual people/object/layers etc or do you just sample the color you need? I'm not sure what's the better way

Nope, I do it much easier. If I paint a landscape, I open a picture that resembles my color palette and pick the basic colors out of it. I mix them in the working file and then. later I used the color picker in the artwork picking out the color I need. My few swatches are so lonely.

I love this tutorial and I can't wait to try it out...will you be posting the brushes you used to make it again any time soon? I'd really like to try them out. :)

Thanks! I canīt even remember which brushes I used there. My set is in constant developing but I have some sets of brushes up in a folder in my gallery, containing a set of tree bark and also a set of foliage. :)
