Oh they are easy to make yourself. I think those are even photoshop standard brushes.

thanks for this!! I wonder - do you make color pallets for individual people/object/layers etc or do you just sample the color you need? I'm not sure what's the better way

Nope, I do it much easier. If I paint a landscape, I open a picture that resembles my color palette and pick the basic colors out of it. I mix them in the working file and then. later I used the color picker in the artwork picking out the color I need. My few swatches are so lonely.

Thanks! I canīt even remember which brushes I used there. My set is in constant developing but I have some sets of brushes up in a folder in my gallery, containing a set of tree bark and also a set of foliage. :)

Oooh, thanks for posting this! I love your trees (among other things).

If you're interested, I used it to paint the trees in this piece: [link]

This is a wonderful walk through and has helped me so much, I think those custom brushes help a lot in making the trees look unique. When I'm done with one of my pieces (with trees :P), I'm going to dedicate it to you. Your art is inspirational.

This is a very nice tutorial. I think you're an expert on quick tut's which explains perfectly the basics in a very limited space. See if i can unzip that "patience file" now :giggle:. Thanx a lot for putting this up among with the brushes :worship:

thank you! yes, you need definitively patience. i have a picture of a tree open beside the artwork as reference, that helps alot. :) you should make a picnic with your family in norra kvill, at kvill eken and shoot some pics! :)

I made a quick test just to try the tut, and i think it came out quiet good to be just a test, (very useful brushes by the way, i'm using them in an other piece i'm working on right now), I'll submit it later so you can take a look at it. Your tut's are great and if/when you have time left, it would be wonderful with more short tutorials like this. Like, painting humans ;) etc.
I understand and respect if you don't have time for it, but it would be great. :)

aaw, where is your pic?

drawing humans is a very very complex theme. i can recommend the drawing books from burne hogarth. i have them myself. they explain everything how i would explain it! though i start humans always with a stick figure and build the flesh around it. ;)

I'll submit it after this reply ;)

You are right about the complexity... and i guess i'm too lazy to really try. It's so easy to just move along with the thing you can handle. See if i can get those books later on - cuz if they explain as you do they're a MUST HAVE! :D
I've tried the stick figure thing, but almost every single time the figure end up like a frozen frog in a blizzard.
